Nut Tree Farm
Nut Tree Farm is an unusual holiday “cottage” as it accommodates up to 28 people in style.
Absolutely perfect for extended family groups on a South Devon holiday. Guests book Nut Tree Farm years ahead as there are very few holiday properties ideal for big groups. The property is the winner of the 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 Customers’ Choice Award for exceptional customer feed-back scores (+9.5/10 or above).
Lots of space inside Nut Tree Farm
Nut Tree Farm has 13 bedrooms all with their own en-suite shower or bathrooms. The accommodation is split over the barn wing of the building and the original farmhouse. A large dining room, three sitting rooms, huge kitchen and handy utility room leaves plenty of space for everyone.
Facilities
The modern kitchen is designed to cater for big groups with two full-sized fridge-freezers, two ovens and hobs plus a utility room for laundry. Two sitting rooms have flat screen TVs so the children don’t have to fight with grown-ups! There is a cool Marshall bluetooth sopeaker in the dining room, both of the sitting room TVs are internet-content enabled. One is a 50″ smart TV and the other an online blu-ray player, HDMI connection leads are provided.
All double rooms have wall-mounted free-view televisions. Ashcombe’s own superfast broadband means there is now 40mb/s internet inside and outside the buildings using a Mesh Wi-Fi network.
Outside Areas
Nut Tree guests have exclusive use of a 8 x 3.50m, 1.50m deep private heated outdoor pool (30°C from 1 April to 1 November) and a games barn with table tennis, pool table, board games, Giant Jenga and a skittles alley
The property has two enclosed lawns and a small outdoor playground.
At the rear of the barn is the Pig Pen indoor/outdoor BBQ and dining area. For over 40 years the pig pens behind Nut Tree sat idle. The area has now been up-cycled in whimsical style and provides semi-al fresco dining space all year round.
There is also custom-made charcoal bbq on the front lawn of the property, outside the dining room.
Parking & EV Charging
Exclusively for Nut Tree’s guests there is a large private parking area located across the lane by the front door.
We are planning to add a new EV charging point for Nut Tree very soon. In the meantime at nearby Woodhouse Farm’s Endeavour Farmhouse there are two type 2 7.3kw EV charging points. Charging is through the Project EV app. To save time before arrival, download and set up the Project EV app from The Apple App Store or Google Play. All you need to do is scan the QR code on the charger and plug in your car. This will charge your vehicle at a rate of 30 miles of range per hour. Please remember to bring your own cable.

A walk about the property
Farmhouse:
Passing through the farmhouse front porch, a door opens left into a large double bedroom with an extra single bed. A wide oak staircase leads to four further bedrooms upstairs, one double bedroom with
ensuite shower room and one double with an ensuite bathroom, and an ensuite twin and an ensuite triple room to the right. Turning right from the front entrance takes you into a comfortable sitting room with a large log burning stove
and large smart TV. Large leather sofas provide comfortable seating. To the left is a smaller sitting room. A door leads off from here down to another double bedroom with ensuite shower room /W.C. A downstairs cloakroom is situated
opposite the back door.
Barn:
The south-facing barn’s first floor has one double bedroom, and three twin bedrooms all with en-suite shower wet-rooms/W.C.s. Leading from the second sitting room, the ground floor has one double room and
two twin bedrooms all with en-suite shower wet-rooms/W.C.s – one also equipped for disabled. At the west end of the ground floor the comfortable 18 x 18ft sitting room connects to a large dining room seating 28 at three oak tables,
and this joins on to a modern kitchen. A door leads on to a laundry and utility room.
Nut Tree Farm has two enclosed lawns, one has the 12ft x 24ft heated swimming pool. At the rear of the property is a games barn with pool, skittles and table tennis, plus a TV for use with guest’s own games consoles.
