Ashcombe holiday cottages are self-catering, but that doesn’t mean you have to do all the cooking. Guests can arrange for a private chef to prepare a special dinner party or bespoke dining experience in the comfort of their own cottage.

Using high-quality locally sourced ingredients, our talented caterers create restaurant-quality meals for family celebrations, group gatherings and relaxing evenings in.

The best part is that our trusted chefs and caterers are all based at Ashcombe or within just a few miles of the estate, showcasing exceptional local talent right on the doorstep. Every caterer has been carefully selected and recommended through years of experience with both the Ashcombe Estate and our guests.

All of our chefs hold the highest Food Hygiene Rating of 5, giving guests complete confidence in the quality and professionalism of every dining experience.

For larger groups and celebrations, waitress service can also be arranged, allowing you to fully relax and enjoy exceptional food and drinks in the comfort of your holiday cottage. It’s the perfect way to experience some of the very best produce and flavours the Westcountry has to offer.

Another popular catering options is the pre-prepared meal service. Guests can order delicious ready-to-cook meals in advance of their stay, making holiday dining simple and stress-free. Menus are available on request, and chefs can either provide a convenient drop-off service or stay to help serve.

 ‘ Devon Cooks’  Nina Caldwell is at hand to provide a sumptuous evening meal in the comfort of your cottage. Sourcing local and seasonal ingredients creating a memorable meal so you can kick-back and relax after your day exploring Devon.

Nina worked as a private chef for twenty five years on super yachts around the world and has a wealth of knowledge. She also grew up in the Ashcombe valley, before beginning her culinary journey around the world.

Ashcombe resident  Scott Harrison-Jones of ‘Shepherd Shack’ is a classically trained chef with over 25 years experience. 

Scott cooks the estate’s official lunches and dinner parties and was also behind the Woodland Kitchen outdoor restaurant. He and his wife Clair are delighted to cook for your house-party at  Ashcombe Cottages

Raised on a farm near Dawlish, Lyn inherited her passion for fresh, authentic food from her family. Lyn’s mother used to cook a wonderful steak and kidney pie for the estate shoot days.

Her cooking career began in local pubs and led her to win the ‘School Cook of the Year’ for the South West

Lyn’s Catering are a very popular choice with our guests and are able to manage bigger groups, weddings and parties with ease.
