The Cider Barn
The Cider Barn is a beautifully finished holiday cottage for up to 16 people created in 2008.
Passing the original cider apple orchard, a steep drive leads to commanding views over the scenic Ashcombe Valley between the rolling hills to the just visible South Devon coast. With excellent privacy, the house is popular with groups and extended families who want to holiday together in style.
History
Ashcombe Cider was made at the barn until the 1950’s. The 20,000 gallons made there each year make our modern cider production of 2,000 litres seem rather feeble!

The house sleeps up to 16 people in 8 rooms, 6 with their own en-suite bathrooms. The accommodation is on the ground and first floors..
Facilities
There is a large dining room, a spacious double lounge with a wood burning stove and well equipped modern kitchen and utility / boot room.
The kitchen is designed to cater for big groups with a large American-style fridge freezer, chef’s fridge, range oven and hob. The huge custom-made oak dining room table can easily seat 16 people.
Ashcombe’s broadband means there is 30mb/s Mesh WiFi throughout the property, including outdoors.
Outside Areas
The Cider Barn has a private fenced garden with a heated 5 by 2.50m, 1.20m deep outdoor plunge pool (from 1 April to 1 November) as well as private rota access to the main indoor swimming pool at Woodhouse Farm all year round.
Directly outside the house there is a paved area with a charcoal Webber BBQ to cook ‘old school’.
Down the drive, guests may walk in the original cider orchard, recently restored with 300 new trees
Parking & EV Charging
There is a large private parking area located outside the back door.
There are two type 2 7.3kw EV charging points. Charging is through the Project EV app. To save time before arrival, download and set up the Project EV app from The Apple App Store or Google Play. All you need to do is scan the QR code on the charger and plug in your car. This will charge your vehicle at a rate of 30 miles of range per hour. Please remember to bring your own cable.

A walk about the property
Entry through the front door reveals the spacious double reception room with wood-burning stove, 55″ flat-screen smart TV, Marshall Bluetooth speaker, and leather sofas, leading to the spacious dining room. From the dining room the rear entrance lobby is at one end and the kitchen with Italian-tiled floor at the other. Leading from the reception room is one double bedroom with en-suite shower room / W.C., and a twin-bedded room with an adjacent bathroom / W.C. Accessed from the sitting room is a master double bedroom with an ensuite shower room /W.C.
Going up the stairs from the lounge to the first floor there are two double bedrooms, each with en-suite shower room / W.C. Three twin bedrooms, each with en-suite shower room / W.C.
