About Ashcombe

Three generations of the Rayner family have been the estate custodians since 1932. Brigadier Sir Ralph Rayner served in both world wars and was MP for Totnes. Lady Elizabeth Rayner was involved with great charitable events and village life.

Ashcombe’s beautiful scenery and friendly atmosphere is treasured by villagers and visitors alike. There are walks in the ancient Tower Plantation and country lanes to amble down. There’s also a 12th Century church to visit and perfect rural views to admire. Relax with a pint of Ashcombe Cider at The Ashcombe Village Club when you have finished your day.

Our members of staff are nearly all villagers or live within 5 miles of the Estate.
