The Devon & Exeter Race course, just 10 minutes from Ashcombe, at Haldon is the UK's second longest course and the highest.

Newton Abbot racecourse is also less than 10 miles away and  runs races from March until late summer

A great family day out offering miles of walking and cycling trails, play features, Go Ape! Highwire adventure course, cycle hire, cafe, the Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World, and opportunities for quiet reflection off the beaten path.

Guests staying at Ashcombe in the summer are perfectly situated for the regatta events along the coast. The Red Arrows and Battle of Britain flight come to the Dawlish and Dartmouth Airshows. Other regattas have a huge variety of maritime and air events.

The Teignmouth Golf Course, barely 5 minutes away from the Ashcombe Cottages on Haldon Moor, is of traditional Mackenzie Design and one of the best heathland links golf courses in Devon.  The Warren Golf Club is down by the sea at Dawlish Warren.
