Many of Devon's top attractions are within easy reach of Ashcombe
including Dartmoor's picturesque villages and inns. There are long
sandy beaches and excellent shops within 4 miles. The Eden Project
is a day's outing. A farm shop is planned. We farm 1000 acres organically.

Adventure Centre
For a fun time on Holiday there is no need even to leave Ashcombe
as we have our own adventure centre with a range of activities from
assault courses to quad biking and Clay Pigeon shooting to fishing.

Powderham
Castle
Built over 600 years ago, Powderham Castle is the historic home
of the Earl of Devon. The Castle is still lived in by the Courtenay

Miniature Pony Centre
Experience the animals and activities in 20 actes of parkland within Dartmoor National Park, with over 150 animals including Minitature Shetland Ponies and Miniature Mediterranean Donkeys. (www.miniatureponycentre.com)
Birds
of Prey Viewing
For a number of years peregrine falcons have been nesting up at
Butlers Hill near Lawance Castle outside exeter. Peregrine falcons
are not the rarest of the birds of prey to be found in this country,
yet they are a spectacular sight and one that gives pleasure to
the many people who can witness their behaviour. Peregrine Flacons may also be seen around Ashcombe.
Castle
Drogo
This extraordinary granite castle, perched on a Dartmoor crag, was
built between 1910 and 1930 for self-made millionaire, Julius Drewe.
Architect Sir Edwin Lutyens skilfully combined a medieval atmosphere,
created by bare granite, exposed timbers and tapestry-hung walls,
with comfortable and stylish rooms fitted with the latest conveniences
of the day. These included central heating and elaborately appointed

Hennock
Reservoir
A 35 acre reservoir on the edge of Eastern Dartmoor. Bluebells line
the shore of Tottiford Reservoir near Hennock. Trout fishing is
available from £16 per day.
Cannonteign
Falls
One of England’s wonders – Canonteign Falls –
is found in the beautiful Teign Valley, Dartmoor, Devon. The Falls
descend almost vertically for 220ft (67m) and run on through rock
formations and ancient woodlands before cascading into the tranquil
lakes below. Canonteign Falls offers a spectacular day out for all

Sea Fishing
It is easy to get a boat from Teignmouth River Beach or Boat Cove
in Dawlish, once at sea there are Bass, Pollack, Mackerel, Dabs
and Whiting in Teignmouth bay. There are also deep sea wrecks and
offshore trips are possible.
Steam Railway
Come and have a great day with us and experience the best of unspoilt
Devon from a South Devon Railway steam train as it hugs the beautiful
River Dart all the way between Totnes and Buckfastleigh on this

Pennywell
Farm

National Aquarium
The National Marine Aquarium was the first aquarium in the United
Kingdom to be set up solely for the purpose of education, conservation
and research. It
remains Britain's foremost aquarium and in the four years it has
been open it has attracted over one and half million visitors through

Racecourses
T he South West's most prestigious racecourse, sitting high on the
top of Haldon Hill, just outside Exeter with wonderful views down
towards Dartmoor. It is the highest racecourse in the land at 850
feet, the second longest at 2 miles and has been described as not
only one of the loveliest courses, but one of the fairest tracks

Golf Courses
With at least 15 outstanding courses to choose from in the area,
you'll find just the right degree of relaxing or challenging golf
you're looking for. It's little wonder that golf enthusiasts come
