Originally producing up to 20,000 gallons of cider a year up until the 1930's. The Cider Barn was converted in late 2008 becoming a superb well-appointed, beautifully finished property.
One of the most perfectly designed houses to stay in. Access is via a long winding uphill drive through the original cider apple orchard. The building and garden overlook the scenic Ashcombe Valley and all the way to the south Devon coast. The property benefits from total privacy - it is very hard to see any other buildings – and is ideal for groups and extended families on holiday together. Tucked away at the bottom of the drive lies Apple Tree Cottage, formerly the Gamekeeper’s cottage which can provide accommodation for an extra six people if required.
The Cider Barn sleeps up to 16 people in 8 rooms all with their own ensuite bathrooms. The accommodation is split between ground and first floors which, together with a large dining room, a wonderful double lounge with a wood burner, well equipped modern kitchen and utility / boot room makes the Cider Barn the perfect place to stay in summer or winter. Exclusive use of The Cider Barn’s heated outdoor pool with private parking facilities allows guests to come and go as they please or just stay and enjoy a relaxing time.
The kitchen is designed to cater for large groups so guests will find that there is a large fridge freezer, two large ovens and hobs. The wonderful oak dining room table can easily seat 16 people. There is a new gas-fired Webber barbeque for cooking up a gormet outdoor feast on the patio.

Entry through the Cider Barn’s front door reveals the spacious double reception room with wood-burning stove, large flat-screen TV, iPod dock, and leather sofas, leading to the well appointed dining- room. From the dining room the rear entrance lobby is at one end and the kitchen with Italian-tiled floor at the other. Also leading from reception room is one double bedroom with en-suite shower room / W.C., and a twin-bedded room (suitable for disabled guests) with an adjacent wet / bathroom / W.C. A master double bedroom with an ensuite shower room /W.C. is also accessed from the sitting room.
Going up the stairs from the lounge to the first floor there are two double bedrooms, each with en-suite shower room / W.C. Three twin bedrooms, each with en-suite shower room / W.C.
